That way the honeycomb stays super fresh, just like the bees made it. The main nectar source in my area is sweet clover and basswood\/linden. Both nectar sources create a very light colored honey. (See Photos) There is a natural variance in the thickness of the comb. This is a natural product created by the bees so I cannot control some things.
