Back in the \u003cem\u003e\u003cstrong\u003e1970s\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/em\u003e, they were even the largest Single Malt distillery in the whole of Scotland – the very epicenter of Highland Single Malt. In the 80s, the distillery was bought by the Japanese\u003cem\u003e\u003cstrong\u003e Takara Shuzo Ltd. \u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/em\u003eand today, they pump out about\u003cem\u003e\u003cstrong\u003e 2.5 million liters\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/em\u003e every year to satisfy their demand – some of it is stabbed off, though, to produce Tomatin signature Highland Single Malt and their own fine blends:\u003cem\u003e\u003cstrong\u003e Antiquary \u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/em\u003eand\u003cem\u003e\u003cstrong\u003e Talisman.\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/em\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\r\n\u003cbr\u003e\r\nAnd which bottle does Tomatin consider to be their most vivacious expression? This Scotch is a showcase of their signature rich and sweet undertones. Bottled at natural strength of \u003cem\u003e\u003cstrong\u003e115.4 proof,\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/em\u003e the nose is full of all things wonderful like golden syrup and ginger biscuits, while the palate has more malt loaf and marzipan notes. And so, when we saw the \u003cem\u003e\u003cstrong\u003elong list of accolades\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/em\u003e this Cask Strength has gathered, we weren’t surprised.
