Thomas Jefferson's Library: A Catalog with the Entries in His Own Order

This book painstaking reconstructs Jefferson's library catalog. Jefferson's personal library of 6,478 volumes was sold to Congress in 1815.   It formed the foundation of the Library's collection and ultimately replaced books burned by the British during their occupation of Washington, D.C.  Edited by James Gilreath and Douglas L. Wilson. Hardcover, 149 pages.

This book is the perfect companion to our permanent exhibition Thomas Jefferson's Library.
